Christine Hamel (she/her) is an actor, singer, voice/text coach, playwright and director who is an Assistant Professor of Voice and Acting at Boston University School of Theatre. Christine is the director of the Femina Shakes initiative, committed to feminist retellings of Shakespeare that allow actors to play unleashed from the traditional shackles of gender. Christine’s primary area of academic research is on voice as an embodied phenomenon, replete with social and political meanings and inequalities: this inquiry is focused on the possibility of liberating, transforming, and finding the transgressive potential in the arena of the voice to change our lives and society.
Lisa Rafferty (she/her) is a playwright, director, producer.
