Mitch Shiner | Performance
Statera Foundation is excited to host the inaugural performance of, "The Red Thread", created and performed by Christine Jugueta and directed by Jacqueline Stone on Thursday, October 4, 2018. Christine will be joined by Belinda Yamate (Vocalist, Co-Producer), Emily Kneisler (Stage Manager, Production Assistant), Grover Hollway (Sound), Magdalena Sustere (Cellist, Bassist), Marcya Daneille (Vocalist), Mitch Shiner (Vibraphonist, Percussionist, Bassist), Penny Larson (Drummer, Percussionist), Stephanie Lippert (Keyboardist, Vocalist), and Kiki West (Videographer).
Mitch Shiner is an in-demand vibraphonist and drummer, active educator, composer and graduate from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music with a BM in Jazz Studies. He has performed with groups of all genres and styles, including CNJ Latin Jazz, Mark Davis Quartet, Foreign Goods, Milwaukee Jazz Orchestra, Present Music, Post Modern Jazz Quartet, Wayne Wallace Latin Jazz Octet, Rachel Caswell’s Quartet, Buselli-Wallarab Jazz Orchestra, Ana Gasteyer’s Columbia Club Cabaret Show and with legendary vocalist Everett Greene. In 2014, Mitch released his debut CD “FLY!” to critical acclaim. He is a recording artist for Patois Records, a label fronted by Grammy-nominated trombonist, Wayne Wallace. Mitch has also recorded for various music publishers including Alfred, Wingert Jones, and Hal Leonard. As an instructor, he has conducted masterclasses at UW-Parkside, University of Indianapolis, Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, Park Tudor School, and Nicolet High School. He is currently the Director of Percussion Studies at Cedarburg High School and teaches percussion at several Milwaukee public schools through the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music’s Conservatory Connections program.
